Wekiva “not” Island
AHHH…We love the Wekiva River. The Wekiva River is one of two recognized National Wild and Scenic rivers in Florida. The river is a relatively short 16 miles spring-fed stream located just north of Orlando. Wekiva Island (which is not actually an Island) but that is what they call it. It is privately owned and the best kept secret in the Orlando area.
Great place to go for families and friends. They have tons of activities, canoeing, kayaking, volley ball, swimming, and corn-hole.
They even have an oasis with a bar and flat screen TV. You can and should bring your dog! Here we are hanging out with friends.
Wekiva also offers really comfy Cabanas Rentals starting at $75.00 for a weekday to $250.00 for the VIP Cabana on the weekends. Drinks are pretty standard. $1.00 for a soda, Beer between, $2-$4.00 and wine $5.00.
There are usually live bands on Saturdays and Sundays and they bring in different Yummy Food trucks on Fridays. Current operating hours are Mon – Thu, Sun 8AM – 7PM, Fri-Sat 8AM – 11PM However I would call to make sure this does not change.
